Will I be taken hostage by a low level Sicario trying to make a name for himself in the Peruvian Cartel?
Will my travel companion be drowned in a sea of gender ambiguous ladies of the night?
Can I create a very amateur travel blog with the egotistical introspection of Jack Kerouac?
All likely scenarios I have to ponder before setting off on my travels to South America two days from now. I fly into Lima in the early hours of Sunday the 17th of April and will be picked up from the airport by a man holding a sign with my name on it (already quite a thrill). I’m not really sure what I’m expecting to find or see when I get there but I think that’s a big reason for me going in the first place. Joe (my travelling companion) and I plan to move through Peru via Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca, ending up in La Paz, Bolivia. After seeing the Amazon, we plan on going onwards to Argentina, Brazil and wherever our interest takes us. I am anticipating the unexpected and doubt I’ll be disappointed. I’ve got a little moustache and some big boots. I’ll report back in when I arrive.
